Happy Old New Year. Rang it in the proper way with lots of food and stuff. In Russia it's real traditional for Muggles to do their own sorts of fortune-telling at the New Year. My mother's cousin cooked a meat pie with a piece of garlic in it, and they say the one that gets it will have the luckiest year. My mother found it this year. Hope it comes true, she deserves it.
Then after you're finished with dinner you leave the spoons on the table when you go to bed, and when you come back to table in the morning if your spoon is the way you left it the next year will be pretty much like the last, but if it gets turned one way or another during the night the year will be different. Better if it's turned to the side, worse if it's turned upside down. Mine was
Annie - С Новым годом. That's how you write Happy New Year. You say it like S Novim Godom. Thought you might want to know.
I'm home on Saturday. That's It'll be nice to get back.

So I got a new job starting next Monday. In case anybody wanted to know. Still at Mungos, but I'll be down in the test labs now.
Montrose v. Portree on Saturday. I'll lay a Galleon on the Magpies, if anyone'll take that bet. Anyway I've got a good feeling about Filibuster this season, specially after that catch she made in the first match.

Heard they're letting that werew girl who Melio kid that was bit back into school. Don't see how they can. Letting a monster into school with the kids. Ridiculous. Parents ought to be protesting.

Couldn't even go in Dai's Ward for weeks. Didn't want to see her. Didn't want to know what she was. Hoped she was going to die.
